Writing that borrows from another person’s work without appropriate acknowledgment challenges the academic integrity of a university community. Clear attribution and acknowledgement of authorship and sources is a practice that Soban Singh Jeena University seeks to inculcate in its students. Completing a workshop on academic integrity is mandatory for students in their first semester. Violating Academic Integrity is a serious offence, must be reported, may become a part of your permanent file, may show on your transcript, and is generally met with severe disciplinary action. You may also be required to complete a refresher workshop on academic integrity. Note that you cannot graduate if for you, such a mandatory workshop is pending. Details regarding SSJU’s handling of academic misconduct can be found in the Academic Integrity Policy, which is available in the documents section associated with the Office of Academic Affairs.
