Student Government

The Soban Singh Jeena University Student Government (SSJU-SG) is a representative body that provides students with a platform to express their views, concerns, suggestions, and ideas. It serves as an important link between the student community and the University administration, encouraging active participation in campus decision-making and student development.

The Student Government works to promote student welfare, leadership, inclusivity, academic engagement, cultural activities, sports, and a positive campus environment.

Structure of Government

1. Student Councils

Student Councils represent different student groups and academic programmes within the University. They provide students with a platform to raise academic, residential, cultural, and community-related concerns and work collaboratively to address them.

  • Programme/Class Representatives

2. Student Representative Body

The Student Representative Body acts as a collective forum for discussing matters concerning students. Representatives work with the University administration and relevant departments to communicate student concerns, support campus initiatives, and encourage greater student participation.


Executive Leadership

President

The President serves as the primary student representative and leads the Student Government. The President coordinates with student representatives, University authorities, and various student groups to support student welfare and development initiatives.


Vice-President

The Vice-President assists the President in coordinating Student Government activities and supports the implementation of student-focused programmes and initiatives.


General Secretary

The General Secretary manages official communication, meetings, documentation, and coordination between the Student Government and student community.


Joint Secretary

The Joint Secretary assists the General Secretary and supports the planning and execution of Student Government activities and student initiatives.


Role and Activities

President

The President serves as the primary student representative and leads the Student Government. The President coordinates with student representatives, University authorities, and various student groups to support student welfare and development initiatives.

The SSJU Student Government works to:

  • Represent student views and concerns before the University administration
  • Promote student welfare and participation in campus activities
  • Support academic, cultural, sports, and community initiatives

  • Facilitate communication between students and University authorities
  • Help build an inclusive, respectful, and vibrant campus community

Contact and Communication

Students are encouraged to share their feedback, suggestions, and concerns with their respective Student Representatives or Student Government members. The Student Government also works with University departments to ensure that genuine student concerns are communicated and addressed appropriately.


Student Participation

The Student Government encourages students to actively participate in University activities, contribute ideas, take leadership responsibilities, and work collectively towards creating a supportive and engaging campus environment.

Transport

Soban Singh Jeena University facilitates convenient and accessible transportation options for students, faculty and staff. Transport facilities are arranged to support daily commuting between the University campus and important nearby locations, subject to the approved schedule and availability. The primary objective is to provide students with a safe, comfortable and reliable commuting experience.

Medical Services & Guidelines

Soban Singh Jeena University is committed to providing students with access to basic healthcare and medical assistance on campus. Students, faculty and staff can seek first-aid and medical support through the designated healthcare facilities and services available at the University.

1. Basic first-aid and medical assistance is made available to students, faculty and staff as per University arrangements.
2. Qualified medical professionals may be available during designated hours for consultation and primary healthcare support.
3. Students requiring specialised treatment may be referred to appropriate hospitals or healthcare facilities.
4. Students are advised to immediately report any medical emergency to the concerned University authorities.
5. The University facilitates emergency medical assistance and transportation to the nearest suitable healthcare facility whenever required.
6. Students are expected to provide accurate medical information and cooperate with University authorities during medical emergencies.
